Dhirubhai leaves India for his only job stint at A Besse and Co. in Aden, then a British Colony. The Shell company was agent of many insurance, airlines and shipping companies. Shri Mukesh Ambani was born in Aden in 1957.

Shri Dhirubhai Ambani was born on December 28, 1932 in Chorwad, Gujarat, then part of Junagadh state. His parents were Shri Hirachandbhai Ambani and Smt. Jamnaben Ambani. He was their fifth child.

Shri Dhirubhai Ambani married Smt. Kokila Patel on March 12, 1955. Smt. Kokila Patel was the daughter of Shri Ratilalbhai Patel and Smt. Rukshmaniben Patel of Jamnagar. It was an arranged match. Smt. Kokila Ambani relocated to Aden and started a new life with Shri Dhirubhai Ambani.
